This year’s Scholarship Banquet was held at St. Louis Baptist Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

This year’s Scholarship Banquet Honorees were:
Dr. Kirk A. Calhoun, President of UT Health Northeast
Rev. Ralph E. Carraway, Sr., Pastor of St. Louis Baptist Church
Mr. Ernest M Deckard, Former President of Tyler NAACP
Mr. Andrew Melontree, Former Smith County Commissioner and Former Tyler City Councilman
The Banquet’s Keynote Speaker was Dr. Michael V. Tidwell, President of University of Texas at Tyler.
About Tyler Organization of Men (TOM)
Founded in 1968, TOM promotes the growth and seeks to understand the needs of the people, especially those of young Black Males and to provide constructive programs for community improvements, educational growth, and involve committed men through effective communication.
Provide Information and Assistance in Social Services
Counsel, Recruit, and Increase the Potential Employment Opportunities for Youths and Adults
Establish Programs and Provide Leadership for the Youth of the Tyler Community, and where requested assist with Counseling in Family Problems.
Secure and Inform the Public on Matters related to the Local, State, and Federal Government Political Process.
